I think they're mad cuz it's a white black thing and something I did notice about black people they are super racist and they pretend that they are not and this is because sadly the white people are even better at doing their type of music
I think this is anger due to the fact that white people are better at reggae music than black people
Would be like people getting mad at Tiger Wood because golf is a white sport and he's better
Linton
If you didn’t know they were a white/Latino band what would you think of the album?
Buuuahahhaa. Absolute foookery
I love SOJA’s music. I think most fans of roots reggae that give them an honest chance would feel the same. They perform at a very high level and their lyrics are strong. I have no opinion on whether or not they should have won. I have not listened to all of the nominees so that would not be fair. That said I do feel that the reggae classification is super broad. I very much agree with other comments that Dancehall should be a separate category. I listen to roots all the time and very very little Dancehall, two completely different vibes. Not fair to have them judged together.
yes spice I like your dress look lovely meck dem galong jamaican artist needs to boycott it nest year
Never seen so many black racist over soja winning. Like they think reggae belongs to them lol. Idiots need to educate themselves.
These people are stealing everything from us. Reggae is not for everyone,it a cultural spritual thing that a particular set a people around the world can connect to.it a lifestyle, heritage that given to these people when they are in there deepiest destruction .only certain set of people around the world experience this. Just like the bible if you understand the words from the book,it is not for everyone.I am happy that Spice don't win, that would be a set back and our culture. God just teaching us a lessons again. Because Spice should not represent us are our children with her current life that she's living. Amalet win again. We need to understand that a group of people around the world trying to steal our heritage
Wow and he left saying alright alright smh this is bs
American reggae!! What is that? Spice should get it
I remember the Caribbean music awards back in the days YouTube might have some videos some of you might be to young to know about that….
Soja is like terrible karaoke
Just because Jamaica started reggae doesn't mean they are putting out the best stuff today. The music has been watered down to garbage by the likes of Vybz Kartel. ?
who is soja?but spice is not a reggae artiste so she must not feel bad for losing.
Truth is Reggae put Jamaica on the map period!
The entire tourist industry of Jamaica is built on the foundation of Rastafari and it's music, that we label reggae.
I was in
Right here in Jamaica, to this day most Jamaican people ,not all, diss Rastafari
We can all witness in foreign lands they love reggae and Rastafari more than Jamaica period! We also witness that foreigners in their foreign lands are shouting out loud their reverence got The Most High His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie
and with no apologies. There was one So called Rasta singer guy who pissed off Jamaica and Mutabaruka with a song he did with a lot of debauchery. When asked why did he stray to dancehall, he stated " Rasta and reggae nah sell so I joined the dancehall wave looking for glory and profit"
In Europe, boasting the biggest reggae stages in the world, they only want positive and religious reggae music to soothe the souls of humanity. They don't request dancehall at all. Even the biggest reggae stages in N America only wants roots reggae. We e Jamaicans have Ed moved on to other forms of music which I see fine as we are trendsetters and I love some dancehall especially Ninja, Chaplin, Demus, Shabba, Cat, Bright, U Roy, yellow, and all the greats of the era. We are still trendsetters now, but the songs are no longer giving those goose bumps. So no complaining now. This is proof. That roots reggae will never die even if it takes form in distance lands. Also, how long have we been taking and working with American music?
Let's be real.
If we don't Sellassie in Jamaica, then Thank the Lord his na my e carries on in the rest of the world. Hardly anyone in Jamaica is
Any one exclaiming The magnitude if The Most High. If it wasn't for foreigners Reggae as we know it would have long died.
Think.
Totally not fair. You listened to everyone's music except soja then how do you come up with a logical explanation as to why soja shouldn't win? Just because a person is jamaican they should win? You should be glad that our music is being represented worldwide and amongst all ethnic group. I literally looked up them before I started to judge and I thought they did well. I haven't listened the rest as yet but based on what you are saying i came up with this conclusion
What is American reggae plizzzzz answer me?
Germany in the house ?
first to begin they should not have judge Spice in a reggae album category because it's danchall she do and Sean Paul
I did not like Sean Paul album at all he needs to go back to the drawing board fast
half of Spice album was solid the rest water
etana album is not so great as you make it out to be it was not solid album at all one or two sound was good
Gramps Morgan should have done better total failure with this album you waste energy brother
but who knows I believe the white people would love it
Jesse royal album was a total failure as well
waste of energy go back to the drawing board and get some meditation fine Rastafari fire
and I didn't like Jesse royal album cover it was too feminine for me
and soldier album was totally boring
I could that have felt any vibration
so for me none of them deserve the Grammy none….
the products of Jamaica is getting more poor and poor and poor and poor this is not reggae I can't feel anything
7:38 ?????
I'm an island boy, yes imma just island boy.
The bass is gone. While we sleep ?.
Why are you in disbelief when there's not any Jamaicans doing Reggae, That disgusting Alms House NONSESE that they call Reggae should be right where they wind up "In The Garbage" Some of the wickedest Riddims around is coming out of the Solomon Islands and the region. BIG UPS REGGAE, and Kick wey NONSENSE..
They tops the charts what the problem.??♀️
Jamaica doesn’t have a monopoly or lien on reggae music! I thought music was supposed to be universal and a uniting force that crosses racial, social and cultural lines. Reggae music was birthed in Jamaica and we will always be credited with that fact, but that doesn’t mean it is confined to our borders. I don’t think a criteria or prerequisite for being nominated for the Reggae Grammy is being a Jamaican. Reggae is a genre and as long as the artists or groups produced and released an album that is true to that template, why can’t they be recognized for their hard work and efforts? I live in the DC metro area and have seen SOJA live many times and they are actually a solid group with a great catalog.
