A British man did some unspeakable things to his own Grand mother and we will use that story to talk about mental health within our community and stigmas attached especially in the Caribbean diaspora. We found some a statement we made about the Grammy winning band SOJA 7 YEARS AGO on Youtube and would like to correct it now.

Who were the competitors. We have to listen to the other reggae artists he was up against. The best man won but it doesn't mean all who were for a Grammy put out good music. It's the best of poor quality. Who owns, R andB? Get over yourselves people. There is a Latin Reggae beat in the Hispanic community and it's taking hold. Next time a Mexican, or Puerto Rican will win best reggae artists. We are giving free publicity to this guy who was unknown.
Lot of theses bands being opening doors for foreigners and white folks long time check the bands some of the biggest bands welcome them and make them a part of the group while a lot of Jamaican would love this opportunity and what if Domonique did win the Grammy who let him in
Why we as black people always want acknowledgment from others who don't care about us. Why can't we have our own award services for our own people. We need to validate our selves and our people.
Tell them mi Brother too much killi killi
I am going to talk the things. The media ppl mostly Je¥ish are bent on destroying our community.and they only want to push negative msg .
Done in all the music. But God send these White Bands with positive vibes.you can’t go around the creator. Now the shift will begin again
That dude is one sick necrophiliac.

Toots and the Maytals, A reggae pioneer, he performed for six decades and helped establish some of the fundamentals of reggae music. Hibbert's 1968 song "Do the Reggay" is widely credited as the genesis of the genre name reggae.

Nyabinghi gave birth to kumina, r&b, ska,.rocksteady and reggae. That's all international for a long time now.Trap dancehall? Nobody knows what that is.
We seem to be forgetting that Reggae is a culture music, nobody can't steal reggae from JA. You can try to copy or make your music reggae themed but if it is not coming out JA or being brought to the masses from someone who has deep seated JA roots, it ain't reggae!!! And this is where we fail, not only in reggae but in a lot of our authentic traits that we just quite willing sell out to other countries /ethnicities for free as we dont value our ppl and protect our indigenous culture and crafts. Reggae music by JA artistes should be patented /trademarked, stamped as Authentic Jamaican, just like how every other country stamp/trademark/patent their premium commodities. JA is a paradise, we have so much that the world wants and a for such a small Island we are influencers on a global scale but the sad thing is we as a mass can't recognise our gift and therefore do not know how to harness it. As for Dance hall, we need to allow the youngsters their limelight, let them experiment flourish or flop but give them a chance. Dance hall today can't be what it was 5,10 years ago. Dance hall is energetic, bend up, bruk up, whine. Big ppl grow up, progress, you now have children/Grandchildren, harness your music talent and produce quality reggae.
SOUJA is ROCK REGGAE. They been around longtime
Latin People do REGGAETON…
? ? ? ? ?. Reggae is the ❤ ❤ heart beat ? of a people. The rhythm of the drum and bass cannot be replicated. The Vibrations gives off oneness and love ❤. Reggae is not Voilence:
The wake up call for and the CLEAN up of Gangsta Rap and Slut Rap was when white kids started getting grammy…. culture grabbing grammies and making serious money….vs us being motivated and promoted…to be exploited and sexploited and murderated….
They had insurance on XXXtentacion and cashed in big…but aint nobody talking about it…
I remember when them white people went nuts just because Beyonce was to sing at the Country Music Awards and they treated her dirty.
She wasn't accepting an award she was just singing a song she did with a country artist and she got backlash!!!!
Jamaicans have all right to be upset about SOJA!!!
I would be happier if Gentleman won if he were to be nominated.
Jamaica carrying the trend for 21st centuries all that happening is not coincidence its aligned with the power that be , with the royal family decided to visit bought attention to JA whether their visit was good or bad ! Jamaica is covet for the island it’s self, the food , the music , the vibes, the marijuana and even patois ! Reggae is one of the most popular music in the world ,recognized in all 4 corners of the world ! Black people win Grammy for pop music and country music ! It’s the time we living in and reggae as become one of the most popular and love music through out the world ! To be honest I don’t feel no vibes with SOJA music but how ever ,congratulation to them one love to SOJA ! ?
LIFE IS ONE BIG ROAD. WITH LOTS OF SIGHNS…
As it stands Jamaica don’t own some if not all it’s famous tourist locations.
I have seen them showing all these ppl our Bush medicine and what they are good for. We show them everything give them everything soon one day we can’t sing reggae music without copyright infringement of our own cultural music. This is just the tip of the iceberg, more to come. I give things 10 to 20 more years the change is coming. Blacks know no unity.
It´s strange to here people who are born forty years and ander telling what reggae is . who dont even know king tobbys and tippa tone sound system.but i gest thats where we reach.

The only reggae music I hear in Jamaica is my music on my I phone or my thumb drive. You are right my brother I ask myself am like am I in Jamaica. It’s the same thing here. We have West Indian week every August and each Island have a night but when I go for Jamaican I am expecting to get some good old school reggae and other music. It’s pure bullshit American music that’s why I just stay home.

That lady talking about little Richard and Chuck Berry cross over and so flo talking about they wasn’t too welcome Chuck Berry and little Richard started rock and roll to begin with
It all started when they went to Puerto Rico and thought them the dance hall beat and created regaeton then they took the beat and claimed as their own and then a lot of people stop listening to dance hall they just listen to regaeton and the Spanish people who use to listen and play reggae just Lacy like reggae and dance hall don’t exist and they are the ones who created the beat I actually heard someone say dope shaggy and Shawn Paul go down day was inspired by regaeton as if it’s not originally reggae and dance beat
Souflow what about Doordarsh drivers?

Good morning I don't know how to join or to become a member I watch you everyday that. I can
Im late on this but I have to comment. Rock music has the same formula for years and any young band would be honoured to play with Rolling stones etc if you go to Coachella or Glastonbury the patrons are all age groups, punk also have their on genre and following. However Reggae and dancehall artiste and patrons havent learned the craft of how music is put together, i.e live music shows, documentaries on artist before them. Most young Hip hop artists would pay homage to Pac, Biggie most Rnb artist wanna chill or make a record with Stevie or Uncle Charlie. Our younger Artists are claiming the root of their music is dead which is Reggae, they cant name any artist who inspired them, all they talk bout is the new genre of music and give respect to foreign artists who they emulate. Skilli not gonna look for Super cat or Shabba. Jesse Royal/Etana had good Albums but its soft reggae and not played in Jamaica Spice done a good job but not Patra standard. Kofee/Chronnix/Jahcure would have been contenders if they had albums ready. Dancehall is a whole different genre and needs to be more family friendly, using metaphor otherwise it will stop a half way tree and nutn nuh wrong wid dat just dont expect global accolades.
